Furthermore Wines is back with the 2022 vintage of their Russian River Valley Pinot Noir! We found it very similar to the 2021, rating it a very high 9 on our Taste Rating and giving it 93 points.
Back by popular demand, this is the third consecutive vintage we’ve offered of this beautiful Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
The 2022 Furthermore Wines Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is made by celebrated winemaker Ross Cobb using fruit from some of the top vineyards in the Russian River Valley including the estate Graton Ridge vineyard, which is adjacent to Paul Hobbs’ vineyard, plus neighboring vineyards on the west side of the Russian River Valley.
The wine spends 18 months in French Oak (30% new) and only 980 cases were produced.
Die-hard Pinot Noir aficionados won’t even blink an eye at the normal retail price of $55 for this wine, even more so given the high scores that this wine receives year after year. This is also not a wine that is normally discounted – Wine Access has it at $47 a bottle currently.
Of course paying $55 (or $47) for Pinot is not the way we roll here at Reverse Wine Snob.

Because we’re only shipping at the beginning of the week, these orders may take a bit more time to ship after the conclusion of the offer (likely 5-12 days rather than our normal 5-10).
These orders have an additional cost of $8 built into the product price for this Heat Protection Package. It is NOT possible (nor would it be advisable!) to purchase a deal with summer shipping without also including the Heat Protection Package.

While we take every precaution we can with our Summer Shipping protocol, we also know that many of you travel or live in very hot areas where you don’t want to risk it (or you simply detest styrofoam).

No other AVA is as synonymous with Pinot Noir as Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. This cuvée honors that heritage and is anchored with fruit from our Graton Ridge estate vineyard and is thoughtfully complimented with clonal selections from neighbouring vineyards. These vineyards are all located on the west side of the Russian River Valley in Sebastopol where the fog often rolls In daily helping to maintain the bright acidity that balances the definitive bright red fruit characteristic of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes: Juicy black and red cherry bring down the house with this wine. Elegant cinnamon and baking spice notes from the barrel integrate well with the rich and bright red fruit, together making this a great example and expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

And now on to our review:
The 2022 Furthermore Wines Russian River Valley Pinot Noir begins with a really beautiful and harmonious aroma of plum, black cherry, lots of cola and licorice, a little strawberry and baking spice plus a hint of rhubarb. It’s still a bit young at this point but that doesn’t prevent it from being quite expressive and attractive right after the first pop and pour!
Taking a sip reveals…yummy, yum, yum, this is really well done classic RRV Pinot Noir! It’s easy drinking and delicious with plenty of complexity that really comes out after a couple hours in the glass. Balanced, with good depth and acidity, this is just a beauty.
Featuring similar flavors to the nose plus some added black tea and a very smooth mouthfeel, it just keeps getting better the longer it is open. (In fact, it was just as good if not slightly better on day 2.) I love it, this is excellent again!
It ends dry and a bit tart and juicy on the vibrant, very, very long lasting and mouth-watering finish. We’ll put this one at the high end of our 9 Taste Rating at 92-93 points. Capable of aging for a decade or so, splurge away!
